NORTH ST. BAGS’ EXPANSION INCLUDES NEW PORTLAND RETAIL LOCATION AND EAST AND WEST COST SALES REPS
PORTLAND, Oregon—MAY 4, 2015—North St. Bags is proud to announce the launch of a new retail concept storefront in Southeast Portland. Nearly tripling its existing showroom area, the North St. Bags SHOP HQ will showcase on-hand inventory from its line of Made-in-Portland convertible pannier bags and other cycling accessories. “Knocking down a couple of walls really opened the place up,” mused North St. Bags Founder, Curtis Williams who recently took over the entire first floor of their building to accommodate the retail expansion.
The NSB SHOP HQ opens in the first week of May 2015 with a grand opening celebration planned for Friday, May 15th. “We are thrilled to be able to share our full lineup with North St. fans and the tourists who flock to the Southeast Clinton and Division St area to shop. Also, it gives us an opportunity to test out new merchandising strategies to share with our dealers.”
Additionally, to accommodate its wholesale growth, North St has hired two independent sales representatives to cover the New York and San Francisco markets. Mark Silverman and Brent Childress will support the North St. brand and its dealers in New York and San Francisco, respectively. “In 2015 we’re expanding our dealer sales efforts in a big way,” says Williams. “I’m extremely proud to build a product in the U.S. and sell it primarily through Independent Bicycle Dealers. Our just-in-time production model means our bags are only ever a week or two from our dealers’ hands.”
North St. Bags has designed and built convertible panniers, backpacks, and other commuting essentials in its lean manufacturing production shop in SE Portland, Oregon since 2009.
